Muhlenberg Township Real Estate, Schools
& Community Profile

The charming suburb of Muhlenberg resides north of the Reading metro area in a relaxed suburban Pennsylvania setting. The township was named for Henry Muhlenberg, a pastor who lived in the area in the late 1700s. It has its own Muhlenberg School District, which includes Muhlenberg Township, Laureldale, and Temple. Muhlenberg has two zip codes, 19605 and 19560. The township attracts many in the Reading area, including families with children. Real estate in Muhlenberg includes many single-family Muhlenberg homes for sale and some lovely townhouses available in quiet, suburban neighborhoods. Homes in Laureldale and homes for sale in Temple offer similar benefits. Buyers considering moving to Muhlenberg, Laureldale, or Temple will find an area thriving with businesses, recreation, and excellent schools. In addition, Muhlenberg Township is centrally located, with many convenient roads and highways close by.

Muhlenberg enjoys popularity in Berks County as home of the Fairgrounds Square Mall, the Reading Farmers Market, and several other department stores, discount stores, and strip shopping malls.  However, the township seems best known for one of Berks County’s most diverse and interesting places. Geographically, the township sits between the Schuylkill River and the ridges that extend north of Mount Penn.  Many industries, utilities, and other businesses find a home in Muhlenberg, which also enjoys popularity with families with children. These families often choose to buy Muhlenberg homes for sale because of the excellent Muhlenberg School District and can expect to find them at reasonable prices. There are many realtors in the Muhlenberg area, so it shouldn’t be difficult to find a realtor willing to help you find your new home there. The township also has recreational facilities many find unrivaled in Berks County, PA, including some of the area’s best restaurants and nightclubs.  Its proximity to the county seat in Reading is both convenient and appealing. You may find yourself wanting to stick around Muhlenberg Township as much as possible; as a suburb of Reading, PA, it stands out as an especially historical, contemporary, and dynamic community all its own.
